Morality: Right vs. Wrong. Define without religious arguments?
Can it be done? My position is that it can be easily defined outside of doctrinal or belief driven positions.
Yet again and again, I have found that this very idea shuts down rational thought among religionists, or even 'former' religionists. The common european/ north american idea is that all good and bad knowledge flows from "God's Word" (The Bible..) . Before the book existed we were all supposedly non thinking uber-sinning barbarians. But now we have it and just to read it will make us all morally superior…
Same thing is going on in the Koran reading countries.
A return to radical fundamentalism seems to be at hand. Do we want to ride this down into a second Dark Ages?
What's the deal?
