Randy, a doctor from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, arrives in Allegheny in a hysterical condition. He raves to a physician, Smith, that his community has been invaded by Russelites (Jehovah's Witnesses) who have literally taken over the minds and bodies of his friends and relatives. He's a candidate for the lunatic asylum, most agree, but Smith hears him out. Randy then returns from a medical convention to Pittsburgh to find a great number of people jamming his ofice to complain that their loved ones are acting so strangely that it is doubtful that they are the same people, let alone human. Randy is sidetracked from following up on his curiosity by Candy, a stunning beauty and an old girlfriend who has returned home after being divorced.
The next day, Randy's suspicions are aroused even more when those who had been swamping his office with complaints the day earlier tell him that there's nothing to worry about, that they were merely being silly. Later that night, Randy and Candy have dinner with friends Everett and Adams who had strangely abandoned the Baptist church that they had attended for twenty years. To their horror they find enormous Zion's Watchtower magazines; and books proclaiming the worlds end and the destruction of all Churches, and religious leaderd, (including the Pope), stored in Everett's living room bookshelf.
As Everett and Adams try to make a witness and transform their minds, Randy and Candy run for their lives with half the population turned Jehovah's Witnesses in hot pursuit. Many in the police department have also been converted and even the once friendly gas station owner refuses to sell Randy enough gas to get out of town, saying his pumps are empty; and that it didn't matter because the world is coming to an end, so join us now or suffer the consequences. The Phone system is also under the Jehovah Witness grip; when Randy tries to call Federal authorities he is told by operators that all the lines to Washington, DC, are tied up, and they were instructed by the Watchtower Society not to put calls through to unbelievers. He and Candy take refuge in his office, sleeping there over night.
At dawn they see trucks from Zion Watch Tower Tract Society arrive in the local square with townspeople dumbly receiving their daily dose of the Watchtower and Awake! magazines taking them to their cars. The Watchtowers were then taken to neighboring towns in an effort to transform normal Christians into Non-Christians (Jehovah's Witnesses). Town psychiatrist Davis arrives with others and brings along a couple of Watchtowers, which are hidden in the next room. Davis explains that all Candy and Randy have to do is convert over to Russellism and quit the religion they belong to. Davis also explains that if they don't accept the doctrines of Russellism and the Jehovah's Witnesses, Jehovah will kill them at Armageddon. He then says, all you have to do is fall asleep "mentally" and once you have awakened you will have awakened as one of us. You will never again know pain, or suffering, no hate, no worry, no problems, no sexual activity, no Viagra, no bad credit, no mortgages, no rent, no taxes and no stress. The lion will lay down next to the calf without thinking of having him for breakfast. Growing old will be the thing of the past and you will remain young forever. If you fall off of a ten story building and hit the ground you will feel no pain, get up and walk away. These are the fringe benefits if you remain faithful to the Watchtower. Once we snatch you and you agree to be snatched from your false religion, in our world, you will become transformers forever. Your children will play with lions and tigers without fear. Jehovah will close the mouth of the lion and he will not have a happy meal on his mind while playing with them. You will never again worry abouh death or being killed in an airplane crash, because ther will be no airplanes or cars; all the former things will have passed away. Your love ones who have been dead for thousands of years will be phyically resurrected. The Watchtower has already called that event "THE DAWN OF THE DEAD" But Randy adds, there will also be no joy, nor love because with sex comes love.
This he and Candy reject. They overpower Davis and the alien big head elders and flee, running out of the town to hide in a cave. Later that night Candy becomes weak minded and allows herself to fall asleep to the Watchtower doctrines; and is transformed into a Jehovah's Witness alien a fact easily learned by Randy when kissing her juicy lips. It was like kissing a mannequin, cold and unemotional, lifeless. She then cries out for the Witness invaders to capture, detain and convert him saying; "He's here, He's here" but he flees, followed closely by them. Randy manages to outdistance his pursuers and make it to the streets leading into Allegheny Pennsylvania. He begins to shout and wave at passing cars, warning them of the Witness Snatchers invasion. Hundreds of motorist, simple ignore him, thinking him drunk or crazy. He is about to be judged unbalanced when Smith learns that a truck from pittsburgh has overturned and that thousands of strange books, tracts, Jehovah's Witness fake Bibles; Watchtower and Awake! magazines have fallen from the vehicle. Smith quickly believes Randy's wild story and alerts the local police the FBI, and Homeland Security to seal off Pittsburgh. The world is finally waking up to the invasion of the Witness Snatchers better known as the Jehovah's Witnesses of the Watchtower Society. BEWARE Watch your neighbors."
