These pics aren't as sharp as some of Paul's pics (other Paul) but then my current camera point-n-click isn't quite that snazzy... But It's still a fairly unusual thing to see, so I thought worth showing anyways.
I came across a small Hummingbird's nest earlier this past Summer.. up in a tree ,which I happened to spot purely by chance. (Which was something - considering I had a HELL of a time spotting it again once I returned & brought the camera with me) I knew it was a hummingbird.. due to the odd tiny size of the nest (made out of what was like chewed pulp or something.. fluffy!) and baby.. and also that while I was photographing the baby, a green adult hummingbird appeared nearby watching me.. letting out little concerned 'beeps' & 'boops' now and again...
The first pic, though unfortunately unfocused on the subject.. shows that the nest was even above my head.. and I had the reach up on tiptoes with the camera in one hand and try an approximately point it down into the nest to get a look at the baby. Sorry I couldn't edit out the little bits of worm & dodo... But It's 'the wild' after all! ;O)
