Made a trip down to the vicinity of Mount Rainier (Native American name "Tahoma"), here in Washington State, on Sunday. I include here a photo of the mountain, and one of an interpretive sign at a lookout spot.
The camera can't really do the mountain justice, in person; if the photo doesn't look that impressive, keep in mind that the picture was taken at a distance of about 30 miles from the base of the volcano.
The farmer in the foreground is "making hay while the sun shines," a term that has considerable depth of meaning in a state known for its nearly omnipresent rain. We are just coming into our dry season, now, and I have no doubt that farmer was sweating up a storm - it was a hot day.
