I just went to the King5 blog, and there is a new post from Gary Curry regarding his daughter Morgan and her mission to make something positive out of the Dennis Lindberg death. So here is a copy of his two latest posts regarding the subject. I also find it kind of gratifying that a non jw is making this kind of head way.
For those that have contributed before I am asking that you once again go to the site and give her as much support that you can. Like I have said before "we can make a difference".
Great letter Elton - I think it's time Morgan send her presentation to Murry and Cantwell, it should be almost finished. Morgan has just completed an application as a Senate Page next year, but her high priority is applying for the Washington State Student Legslitative Committee that reveiws new applicants in July '08. This committee addresses issues/concerns in our state that deal with youth. I have no doubt she'll be accepted, at 14 she already severs as president for many clubs, chairperson/team leader for several community organizations, Kiwanis volunteer award of 2007, etc. Of course, we know what her main agenda on this youth legslitative committee will be. Keep us posted as to Murry's response - glad you clarified this for her, she'll have a better understanding now.

This process will take extensive work, Rep. Quall wants to make sure it is just right so it makes it to the hearing - they are asking for age 18 to make medical decisions that could result in death, both feel this will be the easiest age to have approved. If it is approved to go before the hearing committee, the representative from Children Health Care will fly in to argue on behalf of the bill and will present her documentation. Rep. Quall told Morgan she is doing a good thing and is the biggest thing a child of her age has tried to do - so far our state has only had a group of students from Walla Walls trying to get the Walla Walla Sweet Onion declared our state vegetable. Quall is very encouraging and has also asked her to send her presentation to our other local legislative reps, as this will help bring awareness of what she is going to propose.
